Laboratory: Parkos
Email: esevers@emory.edu
Project Summary:
I work on understanding the relationship between the structure of JAM-A and its downstream signaling pathways as well as the development of small molecule inhibitors of Immunoglobulin Superfamily members through in silico screens.

Project Summary:
I am interested in the molecular events that happen during neutrophil migration across intestinal epithelial cells. In particular, I study the interaction between neutrophil SIRPa and epithelial CD47. The goals of my study are to identify the CD47 binding site on SIRPa and to elucidate the regulatory roles of SIRPa in neutrophil functions.

Name: Keli N. Kolegraff
Degree Pursuing: MD/PhD
Laboratory: Nusrat

Project Summary:
My work is focused on understanding the function of desmosomes in the intestinal epithelium. Once thought to be solely necessary for maintaining tissue integrity, it is becoming increasingly evident that desmosomal proteins are able to regulate a variety of cellular processes, including cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis.
